The Department on Conservation have granted this event exclusive 4x4 access to a part Tongariro Forest as their contribution,
with Landcorp Farms also allowing use of their properties.
All accommodation and food is your responsibility to organise and there is no obligation to stay at The Park. It is good though, with
a range of room and cost options ( right down to 'backpackers'), but can fill up fast.
The daily trips will be across farmland and bush trails, with views across to the mountains (if it's fine). Both days will be similar but
not the same and the Sunday trip will be a little shorter to allow time for people to travel home.
These events are not intended to be tough, but offer the ability to drive lands that are not available at other times and the intent is for
a sociable weekend of four wheeling. There are some sections that will require some 4wd driving skills.
With the close proximity of the 42nd Traverse 4x4 route, participants often take the opportunity to experience that on the Sunday
afternoon, especially those heading north to home.
